There is something about sculpting an artistic form from unsuspecting boxwood—it is crazy fun and rewarding. The process can be quite exhilarating and in hindsight, a bit comical: One summer I managed to ruin two extension cords (100’ and 50’) by cutting them in two with my power sheers. Sorry Jack! I have plans to sculpt several topiaries in the very near future so watch for posts on this subject. Now, where did Jack hide those new extension cords?


I am convinced that I lived a previous life as an Italian artist. Perhaps I was Michelangelo's humble assistant aiding in his spectacular sculptures. Or the Mona Lisa herself posing for Da Vinci during the day and painting 'til the wee-hours by candlelight. I have some strong connection to Italy that I can't begin to explain and, the saddest part, I have yet to travel to Europe. I know, I know, it is definitely on my bucket list.
